Nature provides something quite special that can not be found with Microsoft or on Google and Facebook - life!  Fish, birds, dogs, cats, horses, chickens are all therapeutic for adults with autism in their own special way.

The source of frustrations that typically overwhelm autistic people (other than loud noise and inconsistent environments of course) is people.  A normal person (if there is such a thing) is seen by the autistic adult as being the same as the autistic adult.  The autistic adult does not see the normal person as autistic, yet they do see the normal person as a human-being, very much like themselves.  Because of this, autistic people, often times, expect the normal person to understand their needs, and to be able to make instantaneous adjustments in order to assuage the frustrations of the person with autismAutism causes a disconnect as to why the normal person can not immediately accommodate the frustrated autistic person.

However; a pond, a turtle, a floating leaf, a horse or a dog is not held to the same standard of expectations.  Animals can teach  autistic people, patience, genuine caring at a snail's pace, or even creative methods for coping with their own discontent.  The Farley Farm is a place where these kinds of interpersonal revelations occur on a daily basis.  It is quite special.  The farm is spacious; it's a ranch, bountiful with nature, in a setting that is both picaresque and predictable.  When you arrive at the Farley Farm, you are greeted with a modest  entry and foyer - only to quickly realize that you are standing in a wonderland of nature.

The Farley Farm is a world renown facility located just north-west of Newcastle, NSW.  The primary accommodations there are STA, MTA and SIL for adults with autism - enrolling as young as 17 years old.

With regard to  (STA) Short Term Accommodation facilities, Abermain, Farley, Cliftleigh and Aberglasslyn are the primary locations.  Selected venues are designed to accommodate adults with autism who are enrolled in MTA (Medium Term Accommodation) - both Cliftleigh and Nulkaba.  All Corner House Services venues are designed to promote, facilitate, encourage and inspire a smooth transition to Supported Independent Living (SIL).

Regular interaction with nature is one key aspect of the way things are done at Corner House Services.  The  pristine landscape of the Farley Farm is quiet, and quieter still as you move into the forest away from the ranch.  Through any-colored glasses, much of the reserve is ethereal.  Peace and serenity are given to this place by Mother Nature herself.  Take a slow lazy stroll through the reserve on horseback, and you will see for your-self.   At times, all you can hear is the wind rustling through the leaves.  Other times, you only hear the birds texting each other as they disappear into the trees.  It is poetic here, to be sure.

Providing care in the direction of SIL for adults with autism in NSW is the spot-on focus of Corner House Services.  Corner House Services serves the entire region of NSW.  Corner House Services is an NDIS  preferred STA, MTA & SIL service provider.  With a pedigree of excellence, and participant after participant after participant achieving Supported Independent Living, Corner House Services maintains a reputation of being the very best of the best service providers for adults with autism spectrum disorder.

Needless to say, it is the people at Corner House Services that make such a poignant difference in the lives of participants who live at there.  As deeply meaningful as an experience in nature can be, it will be people who facilitate access to it.  It takes a long time to put together a hand-picked team of professional, bringing them all to the same mission, goals, objectives and page, and then to regularly deliver health care to adults with autism spectrum disorder in Australia.
